About Emily Alexander
Speech Pathologist
Emily graduated from a Masters of Speech Pathology at Griffith University. She is also a qualified Special Education teacher and has worked for the Department of Education for several years as an Inclusion Teacher.
Emily moved into Speech Pathology due to her passion in working closely with school-aged children in the areas of literacy, language, and social communication. Emily currently works in the field of paediatric speech pathology across infancy to later school age, supporting individuals with speech sound disorders and articulation, language development, literacy (reading and writing) and social communication.
Emily enjoys running group therapy programs for children and teens to support skill development in naturalistic settings. She approaches all clients and families using a strength-based and individualised approach – acknowledging that each individual can reach their unique potential through timely, sensitive and appropriate support. Emily has a strong focus on working as a team with the client, parents/caregivers and other professionals to ensure holistic, high quality and evidence-based practice is provided.
In her spare time, Emily loves exploring nature with her family, relaxing on the beach with her favourite books, and enjoying good food with friends.
