I became a speech pathologist as I love working with children, and I didn’t want a desk job. So speech pathology is perfect! I’m also very interested in language and very passionate in ensuring everyone has access to communication, as I believe communicating with others is key in having a good quality of life. Imagine not being able to tell your family and friends about your exciting day!
I love working with both children and adults across a variety of areas including early speech and language development, voice and swallowing. I am also very passionate about working with people with a disability and autism. This includes using speech as well as alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). And finally multi-lingualism – that is working with families who speak more than one language at home. I am a strong believer of supporting the home language as well as English.
I was attracted to Bloom because of the emphasis on the whole child having both speech pathologists and occupational therapists on the team. Bloom is a welcoming environment for everyone and we have a lot of fun during our therapy sessions – anyone fancy a game of Guess Who?
I love dancing, particularly jazz ballet and tap dancing. I play netball regularly. I also spend a lot of time reading.
Dancing! And travel – I’m really interested in new cultures.
